When to Clean Your Air Ducts

Posted on News September 29, 2010 by Terry Jones

The EPA recommends having air ducts cleaned if “there is substantial mold growth inside hard surface (e.g. sheet metal) ducts or other components of your heating and cooling system.” Or if “ducts are infested with vermin,” or if “ducts are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into the home from your supply registers.”

The presence of mold and/or vermin in your air ducts may have negative effects on your health, while excessive dust and debris can also be harmful.

If you require air duct cleaning, make sure that you choose a contractor who is experienced in duct cleaning and uses the proper equipment. Improper vacuuming of dust and dirt from the air ducts may spread it through the house, causing a whole new issue.

All Year Cooling uses the Rotobrush system with a variety of brush sizes to ensure we use the properly sized brush for your home.

Commercial grade vacuuming removes the dirt and debris, while the lightweight design of the Rotobrush allows for easier transport and handling so we can get the job done faster.

If you’re going to have your ducts cleaned, make sure the job is done properly by an experienced contractor using all of the right equipment.
