How Often Should You Change Your Filter?

Posted on News September 29, 2010

Your filter is an important part of your air conditioning system. It takes tiny particles of dust and dirt out of the air so you and your family can breathe better. Some filters are built to catch viruses and bacteria for added protection.

You should always make sure that you change your filter regularly to maintain optimal performance. Disposable filters should be changed every month, while some are built to last for up to three months. Reusable filters like Trane’s CleanEffects must be vacuumed every three to nine months depending on usage and room conditions.

At All Year Cooling, we’re there to help you with your filtration needs and even offer Correct Filters to fit any system. These are custom fitted and handmade for your specific air conditioner with an aluminum frame and anti-bypass gasket that makes sure nothing gets past the filter pad and screen.

Consider there are roughly 42,000 dust mites in every ounce of dust and indoor air is often of poorer quality than outdoor air, and you’ll begin to see why air filtration is so important.
