Taking on Stephen Strasburg, Washington’s young phenom pitcher, on Tuesday, Dan Uggla finished his night 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun, two runs scored and four RBIs. The Fish went on to win 8-2 and increased Strasburg’s ERA from 2.32 to 3.07. The victory was Florida’s second in a row.
Armed with tremendous hitting power and skill, Uggla continues to earn his spot among the game’s best second basemen. His homerun in the first inning was his 26th of the season, tying him for sixth in the majors this year. Uggla became Florida’s all-time homerun leader on July 31 in San Diego when he homered in the sixth inning off Kevin Correia to give him 144 in his Florida career. Following his homerun Tuesday night, Uggla now has 147 homeruns as a member of the Fish.
As our sponsor, All Year Cooling is proud of Uggla’s accomplishments and the fantastic season he’s putting in from behind the plate. We’ll continue to follow Uggla’s progress this season and throughout what is shaping up to be a stellar career and hope that you will, too!
