A Snap Shot At Our Time Volunteering at LifeNet4Families

Posted on Charity, The Cooler Blog November 27, 2014

Here at All Year Cooling, we are firm believers in extending a hand to help our community. For the Thanksgiving season, we volunteered at LifeNet4Families where we helped load crates with food so that they could be handed out to families for Thanksgiving dinner. We also had the privilege of interacting and feeding families that stopped by the center during our time volunteering there. We took some time to ask two of our team members, Carmen and Ryan, about their overall experience and the impact it had on them. Here is what they had to say:

Carmen:

Why do you think it’s important to volunteer?

  • Volunteering is important because it allows us to give back to our community. It gives us a chance to help families that are less unfortunate than us.

What was the most rewarding part of volunteering for LifeNet4Familes?

  • To see the smile on the families faces when we provided them with a box of food…knowing that they would be able to have a meal for Thanksgiving…

How are you spending your Thanksgiving holiday?

  • For Thanksgiving, I will be traveling to the Everglades to help my grandmother cook a feast for our family gathering. Then I’ll be going to the mud hole to ride four wheelers with my close relatives.

Ryan:

Why do you think it’s important to volunteer?

  • I think it’s important to volunteer because through volunteering we get the opportunity to help the people in the community we live in.  Also, through volunteering, we get a chance to humble ourselves and see how volunteering really does help people.

What was the most rewarding part of volunteering for LifeNet4Familes?

  • Just knowing that on Thanksgiving, families that couldn’t afford to eat will now have a Thanksgiving dinner. That is a rewarding feeling for me.

How are you spending your Thanksgiving holiday?

  • I will be spending my Thanksgiving with my family and we will be cooking, watching football, and enjoying each other’s company
